About Us

As a prominent East End Historical landmark, The Duke has been part of the Leslieville landscape since 1870. Originally named The Morin House Tavern, this 19th-century solid brick building served as a restaurant and pub with an Inn on the second floor.

Historical records show that in 1912, the building was sold to Blake Crawford and renamed The Duke, after Prince Edward – Duke of York & Albany. It has proudly carried that name through to the present day.

Today, The Duke Live continues this rich tradition as a cornerstone of Toronto's music community. Conveniently located near the TTC, we offer a welcoming atmosphere where music history is made every night.
